MISSION EAST TO WEST Stories from the Vanishing Wild Rivers of Nepal. • Over the last 15 years, the beloved rivers of Anup Gurung’s native Nepal have endured massive destruction in the name of development. With wild rivers vanishing before his eyes, Anup decided he had to paddle them to document and bear witness to the rivers and cultures along their banks. In 2018, Anup asked three young paddlers to join him for a five-month expedition across Nepal that would push them and himself. In Mission East to West, Anup shares their experience, not as professional activists or experts, but as kayakers, river lovers, Nepalis; as men.

Unleashed Quebec MMXIX • 22 Athletes. 4 Stages. 7 Days. 1 Competition. All to determine, who is the best kayaker in the world?

BEN STOOKESBERRY • National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2007 and 2016. 134 First descents in 32 countries. From waterfalls to the first single-day descent of the Middle Kings and Kings Canyon, to being in a Brazilian TV show, Ben Stookesberry has done it all. While the founder of "No Big Names" productions has undoubtedly become a big name himself over a two-decade career in whitewater, “Stookes" might still be one of the most underrated kayakers out there. Driven first and foremost by love for the river, Ben’s lack of ego and passion for adventure ensures he will be in the game for a long time to come.

RETURN TO TUNUYAN • Known, yet unknown: A personal journey into the past, present, and future of the rio Tunyan.

A BRIGHT LIGHT SHINING FOR SLALOM • Up and coming paddlers help keep our sport growing and evolving. In this column, World Class Academy Principal Capo Rettig interviews new, young talent to explore themes of the whitewater scene.

THE UNKNOWNS • In this column, Nouria addresses the preconceptions and judgments we bring to paddlers we don’t know.

FREESTYLE IN THE OLYMPICS…. • In this column, EJ shares his opinion on freestyle kayaking potentially becoming an Olympic discipline.

PLANNING FOR THE UNPLANNED • In this column, Priscilla shares tips so you can salvage a long-anticipated paddling trip when things don’t quite line up as planned.

NEURAL FLOSSING: HOW TO FREE YOURSELF FROM NECK, SHOULDER, AND ARM PAIN • In this column, Jessie introduces Neural Flossing, a technique of coordinated movements to help rid yourself of neck, shoulder, and arm pain.

IT TAKES DEDICATION AND GRIT, IT TAKES A CHAMPION, IT TAKES US ALL
