The biggest whitewater kayaking magazine in the world. If a photo speaks a thousand words, then Kayak Session is an encyclopedia. Dubbed the ‘National Geographic’ of whitewater kayaking, we collaborate with some of the best photographers and most acclaimed writers in the outdoor industry. Our photo concept is to show stunning images of kayakers in their element. This photos-first idea is coupled with a creative layout and fresh content, sure to inspire our readers with every issue. Kayak Session is the essential reading for whitewater kayakers worldwide.

GALLERY SHOT • "The Wintering Grounds" is what photographer and kayaker Peter Holcombe wants to call Columbus, Georgia. With warm water and consistent flow releases, the Chattahoochee River’s playspots are becoming the spot in the USA for winter play and training.

NEWS AND HAPPENINGS • This ongoing column is a place to report on the current news, latest descents, expeditions, people and trends in the whitewater world. The world is indeed a big place but the river connects us all. This column attempts to keep us in touch throughout the world paddling community.

In 2018, despite the odds stacked against them, Mike Dawson, Dewet Michau, and Jake Holland embraced Angola’s challenge, beginning with Africa’s fourth-largest river: The Kwanza.

After a trip in November 2016, Kristof Stursa and Joe Rae-Dickins knew they had to return to Pakistan, not to prove themselves on some of the hardest whitewater around, but to further experience the Pakistani hospitality, the grandeur of the landscape, and the rivers lying in the shadow of the Indus.

SVEN LÄMMLER • Self-described as “stubborn, and addicted to kayaking,” others call him “crazy,” “focused,” “motivated,” “intelligent,” even “super-human.” The seemingly fearless Sven Lämmler grew up paddling alongside his brother and father to become one of the best kayakers on the water today. From high water descents around the world to speed runs, Sven playfully styles lines many will never run. Most impressive is that while the 24-year-old from...
