MANIK TANEJA & JACOPO NORDERA - MALABAR RIVER FESTIVAL ORGANIZERS • The 2018 edition of the Malabar River Festival, taking place from July 18-22nd in the Kerala Region of southern India, promises to be one of the year’s biggest whitewater events.We met with organizers Jacopo Nordera and Manik Taneja to hear more about how the MRF has evolved from its original goal of promoting rivers in Southern India to attract the world‘s best paddlers, encourage kayaking whitewater locally, and to develop the sport across the Asian subcontinent.

Here Be Dragons - Creeking in Wales - • Small but mighty: Within the 20,000 odd kilometers2 that form the boundary of Wales lies a surprisingly wide variety of rivers and runs to satisfy even the most well-traveled paddler. For the intrepid willing to brave inclement weather and chase the water from run to run, an action-packed day of adventure awaits. Rob Litherland takes us on a hectic, whirlwind tour of the Welsh whitewater classics, traveling from North to South along the dragon’s back.

DANIEL EGGER • You may not recognize his name, but there is a good chance you have encountered Daniel Egger on a river somewhere around the world. In 2017 alone, the 28-year-old founding father of the Austrian crew the Vboyz traveled and kayaked in 19 countries, paddling everything from the flatwater of the Danube to first descents in Europe and the big water of the North Fork Payette and Indus. We caught up with Daniel to learn more about the man hidden behind the tattoos and to hear his perspective on making kayaking your life.
