Exploring the duality • Not producing a completely all-new bike since 2017, Suzuki has instead only launched revamped or reclothed versions of existing models. Considering that fundamental lack of fresh machinery, and other clues like the massive decision to pull out of MotoGP racing, it seemed any hope of seeing a completely new Suzuki motorcycle was all but gone

OUR TOP PRODUCTS THIS MONTH… • £250 | www.taschen.com

Triumph improves on perfection with Moto2 technology • When Triumph stripped back its race-winning Daytona 675 in 2007 to create the first Street Triple, it didn’t feel like a big deal. The Hinckley factory certainly hadn’t reinvented the wheel. But, in creating a naked, relatively comfortable middleweight sportsbike, Triumph struck a chord with riders looking for an alternative to all-out race replicas

One hand on the (adventure bike) crown • Many manufacturers claim they’ve produced a bike to take on the world – ‘A true global explorer’, ‘No horizon too far’... – that will take sales away from BMW’s R1250GS Adventure, but without success. At least, perhaps, not until now.

Those Good Old Days • ...of the involvement that a British bike brings

The Bold and the Brave • Hats off to Suzuki, who aren’t afraid of making brave and bold decisions. Recently, they pulled out of MotoGP just a couple of years after winning the world championship, then they also announced that they’re pulling out of the World Endurance Championship

Letters

BACK IN THE DAY... • MSL columnist Maynard Hershon picks his favourite articles from the long history of this magazine

Legal Eagle • Springing into action, and insurance is in focus for our legal expert

Welcome to the Peak District

The Roll Call of Success Stefan Pierer • It’s all too easy to assume that any news in the motorcycle world is doom and gloom, what with a clampdown on fossil fuels, in-city restrictions, and an ageing demographic. But look on the bright side – many elements of our favoured pastime are in the ascendance, just take a look at what Stefan Pierer has achieved…

Rasen Shine • While, as an employee of Horncastle-based Mortons Media, I would normally start this route from the company offices, instead we start from the middle of Market Rasen, although you may consider starting from the very popular Willingham Woods tea hut just a couple of miles to the east of Market Rasen on the A631

Slowing down • At what point does slowing down result in no longer moving forward?

Secret Portugal • To think that Portugal is all about the beaches and golf course of the Algarve is not only geographically incorrect, but is also to miss out on so much incredible riding

Two-week Tour of the Balkans • Despite Cornwall being photogenic and scenic, father and son headed east for a real adventure

Suzuki Bandit 600, from road to track • Before I’d entered my...
